Primary Sources, Immigration, and the Internet

During Social Studies this past week, we have been talking about immigration. Since we are currently studying the NE United States, we spent a great deal of time talking about Ellis Island. I took the children to the computer lab for a virtual tour of the facility and let them research some family history/connections. This project led to a discussion of Primary and Secondary Sources where other connections were made. Below you will see some Primary sources from C's great-grandfather - a WWII veteran.

Included are a Purple Heart, another medal, a newspaper clipping of his injury, and 2 photos.
 
Here is a copy of a photo of K's great-grandma's family - Greek immigrants. This picture hangs in New York.
